University of Nizwa Hosts Taiwanese Consulate Delegation to Explore Academic and Research Cooperation

 

 

The University of Nizwa welcomed a delegation from the Taiwanese Consulate, led by Mr Mou, Hua Wei, Representative of the Taiwanese Consulate, to discuss potential areas of academic and research collaboration.

 

 

The delegation was received by University Chancellor Prof Ahmed Al Rawahi and Dr Rashid Al Abri, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture, alongside Dr Waleed Al Rajhi, Dean of Planning and Quality Management.

 

 

During the visit, Prof Ahmed Al Rawahi reflected on the University’s journey and achievements, highlighting its mission, vision, range of academic programs, including PhD programs, and its current national and international rankings.

 

 

The Taiwanese delegation presented four ongoing projects and discussed introducing other Taiwanese academic institutions and technology-oriented partnerships. Areas of potential collaboration include laboratory research, semiconductor technology, internships, and scholarship opportunities.

 

 

University officials expressed keen interest in enhancing cooperation between the two institutions. Representatives were appointed to liaise and facilitate ongoing collaboration. Prof Al Rawahi also welcomed the possibility of an exchange program with Taiwanese universities, reinforcing the University’s commitment to fostering global partnerships.

 

 

The visit concluded with a tour of the University campus, marking a significant step in strengthening international academic and research ties.
