University of Nizwa Researcher Strengthens Ties with Russian Nano Research Center

Dr. Majid Al-Ruqeishi from the Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Nizwa recently concluded a research visit to the Nano Research Centre at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia. The visit, which took place from 17 to 26 February 2025, followed an official invitation from the institute.

Dr. Al-Ruqeishi’s visit aimed to promote collaboration in research and facilitate knowledge exchange. He used the centre’s research facilities to analyse selected samples, using JINR equipment to gain insights into the properties of the materials under investigation.

As part of the engagement, Dr. Al-Ruqeishi delivered a lecture to JINR researchers. His presentation on his research findings inspired discussions and an exchange of ideas, strengthening academic and scientific dialogue between the institutions.

The visit also paved the way for potential collaboration between the University of Nizwa and JINR in scientific research and technology. JINR, an international research institution with partnerships in 16 countries, is renowned for its infrastructure and contributions to various scientific fields.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Al-Ruqeishi acknowledged the hospitality extended by JINR and the Nano Research Centre. He emphasised that the visit broadened the scope of his research and paved the way for new avenues of cooperation between the University of Nizwa and global research institutions.
