Two Nizwa University Students Participate in International Mathematics Olympiad in Belarus

 

 

Two students from the University of Nizwa, Raya Khalifa Al Kindi and Zubaida Ahmed Al Abdali, participated in the Open Mathematical Olympiad for University Students, held in Belarus from February 17 to 21, 2025.

The competition brought together students worldwide to solve complex mathematical problems, testing their analytical and logical thinking skills. Raya and Zubaida, representing Oman and the Arab world, demonstrated strong abilities, reflecting the quality of education they received at the University of Nizwa. Their participation highlighted their talent and strengthened the university’s international presence.

Their team was the sole representative from Arab countries, adding significance to their participation.

Alongside the competition, Dr. Khalifa bin Zayid Al Shaqsi, the academic supervisor, presented a research paper on innovative approaches to teaching mathematics at the university level. His presentation explored methods for nurturing mathematical talent and fostering critical thinking. The research contributed to academic discussions and reinforced the University of Nizwa’s standing in global education.

This achievement reflects the University of Nizwa’s commitment to encouraging students to take on international academic challenges, creating opportunities in education and research. Raya and Zubaida's experience motivates other students to strive for excellence and participate in global competitions.
