University of Nizwa Hosts Director of the Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg to Explore Academic Collaboration

 

 

 

 

The University of Nizwa recently welcomed Professor Georges Tamer, Director of the Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany, on an academic visit to foster collaboration between the two institutions. During the visit, Professor Tamer met with Dr. Issa Al-Amri, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nizwa.

 

The Dean extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guest, commending the efforts of the Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies in advancing shared academic and cultural objectives. He also emphasized the University of Nizwa’s aspiration to strengthen ties with distinguished global academic institutions.

 

Discussions between the two sides focused on ways to enhance scientific cooperation, including academic and research exchanges, as well as the development of joint programs aimed at enriching knowledge and fostering cultural understanding between the institutions.

 

Dr. Khairuddin Abdulhadi, Head of the university's German Section, attended the meeting and contributed to discussions on future plans for bolstering academic and research cooperation. Particular emphasis was placed on cultural and linguistic studies, translation, and interdisciplinary research bridging Arab and German cultures.

 

This visit aligns with the University of Nizwa’s commitment to strengthening its international partnerships and promoting cultural and scientific interaction with leading institutions worldwide, contributing to its vision of excellence and innovation in education and research.
