University of Nizwa Launches Second Edition of "Knowledge Hunting" Summer Program
The University of Nizwa, through its Institute of Lifelong Learning, has announced the launch of its summer program " Knowledge Hunting" in its second edition for school students. The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive university experience, allowing them to engage with university facilities and activities alongside academic pursuits.
This year's program has undergone significant development and improvement, introducing new elements and removing others to better align with its goals. A program for teaching the Quran and Arabic language has been added. In contrast, the sports activity program has been removed. Unlike the first edition, which emphasised external visits, this year's program focuses on utilising the University's facilities to create a comfortable and non-exhausting environment for students.
A key addition to the program is the "Researcher of the Future" initiative, which includes programs designed to encourage students to become future researchers. Engineer Salem Ali Al-Hinai commented on this new initiative, stating, "The distinction of the University of Nizwa in recent years lies in the field of scientific research, and we saw that students should experience this because they will be the researchers of the future."
The program features a daily schedule over three weeks, beginning with lessons in English and Mathematics, followed by a break. The day then continues with programs related to scientific research and other skill-building activities such as Arabic calligraphy, debates, entrepreneurship, and various entertainment activities. Students will also have the opportunity to visit different University facilities, including centres, and institutes.
The program emphasises "integration" by focusing on the comprehensive development of students, aiming for intellectual, skilful, and emotional growth. It also includes moral guidance, with a dedicated lecture on Omani demeanour to frame knowledge and skills within solid values and identity.
The "Knowledge Hunting" program is poised to advance with promising visions, aspiring to effect change and instil in students a love for development and diligent and optimistic pursuit of their goals.
