As we navigate through unprecedented changes in the education sector, it is imperative that we embrace innovation, overcome challenges, and seize opportunities to enhance language learning and teaching across diverse contexts. A perfect example of this collective mission is the recently concluded 1st Annual English Language Teaching Conference, which was conducted with great success.

Ishraqah had the privilege of interviewing Dr. Ahmed Al Rahbi, Foundation Institute director, and Dr. Hisham AlSaghri, Regional Researcher, Assessment and Recognition Manager at Cambridge University Press & Assessment. The interview provides an exclusive insight into the efforts made to conduct this academic event.

Dr. Al Rahbi has expressed that the conference was the culmination of the tireless efforts of the foundation institute's affiliates. The conference's overarching goal was to bring together experts and educators to deliberate on the various challenges faced and solutions implemented in teaching the English language in higher education institutions.

The conference theme of E-learning was selected due to the development of technology in the method of teaching and learning the English language. The conference highlights a dynamic community of educators driven by enthusiasm to explore innovative pedagogical approaches, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and foster collaborations to bridge the gap between research and practice.

The conference program was thoughtfully curated, featuring distinguished keynote speakers, comprehensive plenary sessions, and interactive workshops, each segment designed to offer insights, stimulate dialogue, and encourage the exchange of ideas. The conference is expected to invigorate, challenge, and motivate educators across the sector.

The foundation institute's conference has been instrumental in bringing together experts, researchers, and academics to discuss e-learning and promote best practices. Cambridge University Press (CUP) has been a proud partner in the growth of this conference, which has transformed from an institutional event to a regional one. This transformation reflects a type of relationship that is characterized by consistent growth, which CUP seeks to maintain with any institution.

Dr. Alsaghri, a representative of CUP, emphasized the importance of the conference in promoting learning flexibility and adapting individualized learning approaches. The conference provides a platform for experts to discuss emerging trends in e-learning, which is especially relevant in today's rapidly changing educational landscape.

Dr. Alsaghri also noted that the postgraduate poster exhibition, which accompanied the conference, was particularly noteworthy. He highlighted the active role students play in research, which reflects the research culture that is prevalent in institutions. He believes that integrating research as an evidence-based approach is crucial to the growth and success of educational institutions.

In conclusion, the foundation institute's conference has been a valuable platform for promoting best practices and innovations in e-learning, and CUP is committed to continuing its partnership in this endeavour.
