The Oman Book Fair witnessed a fascinating panel discussion on the creative interaction between poetry and art. The discussion titled "The Creative Interaction between Poetry and Art: A Reading of the Painting 'The Life of Oman' Inspired by the Poetic Experience of Sheikh Abi Surour Al-Jamai" was held at the University of Nizwa booth during the event. The panel discussion was led by Dr Shafiqa Wael, a lecturer at the College of Art and Science, and featured panellists Dr Naeem Lazhar and Mr Khaled Al-Sabhani, both of whom are lecturers at the same college.

The discussion delved into the intersection of poetry and painting and how they can complement each other. Dr. Lazhar shared his experience of painting the beauty of Oman and how he instructed his students to paint their feelings when reflecting on the poetry of the beauty of life. Mr. Al-Sabhani also added that the new experience of painting a poem was insightful for the students.

Dr Wael commented on the intersection of colour and word and how the panel discussed the interpretation of art and poetry to reflect the essence of the serenity of Omani life, especially water and mountains. The speakers also shared their difficulties during the painting process and how they overcame them, making the discussion informative and engaging.

The audience found the discussion to be insightful and thought-provoking, with many leaving with valuable takeaways that they can apply in their personal and professional lives. The lively and interactive nature of the discussion also made it a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone who participated.
