The University of Nizwa Celebrates World Arabic Language Day: Honoring the Contributions of Abu Surur Al-Jama'i to Arabic Language and Literature
The celebration of World ArabicThe University of Nizwa celebrated World Arabic Language Day under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ali Nasser Al-Harasi, accompanied by Prof. Ahmed Al Al-Harasi, the Vice Chancellor for Graduate Studies, Research, and External Relations. The event focused on the contributions of Sheikh, Judge, and poet Abu Surur Al-Jama’i to the Arabic language and literature.
The celebration began with a speech by Dr. Masoud Al Hadidi, the head of the Arabic Language Department, who highlighted that this year's theme focused on poetry and the arts, as announced by UNESCO. The University students created paintings based on Abu Surur Al-Jama'i's poetry, which were displayed at the event.
The event also featured a debate on the ability of the Arabic language to Arabize scientific terms and the language used in scientific research papers. The University students shared their arguments and thoughts during the debate.
In addition, an art exhibition titled "Poem Painting" was held, which showcased the relationship between poetry and art in celebration of the theme of the International Arabic Language. Three discussion panels were also held, focusing on different research papers highlighting Abu Surur Al-Jama’i’s contributions to the Arabic language and literature.
The celebration of World Arabic Language Day was a success due to the cooperation between the University Units, the Education and Cultural Studies Department, and the Arabic Language Department. Language Day was a success because of the cooperation between the University Units the education departments and the Arabic language.
