Maeen Private Endowment Foundation: Investing in Education and Community Development
Maeen Privet Endowment Establishment Board of Directors held the first meeting to approve the upcoming operational plan and to discuss the selection of the Fund’s director council. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Ahmed Al Rawahi, The University Chancellor, and occurred in the University Office at Muscat. Other agendas were on the table of the discussion, such as the role, features, priorities, and working mechanisms of the fund.
During the meeting, Professor Al Rawahi stressed the importance of the Maeen Private Endowment Foundation and emphasised the significance of fulfilling its founding objectives, vision, and mission. He highlighted that the Foundation relies on the prudent investment of its funds to achieve its goals effectively. The Foundation's main objective is to enhance its contributions to various scientific fields and support and care for University students through a range of programs in its upcoming work journey.
The meeting appointed the member of the director council, Dr Waleed Al Rajhi, to be the Chairman of the Council, Ahmed Al-Abri as Vice-Chairman, and Ahmed Al-Kindi as Secretary of the Council. The Council also chose Hamdan Al Ameri as the Foundation's Executive Director.
The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs issued a declaration on August 8, 2023, to register the "Maeen Private Endowment Foundation". It manages and invests endowment funds for various purposes, including supporting financially disadvantaged University students, refining their skills, and providing medical treatment to patients with incurable diseases.
The foundation also aims to develop research capabilities, promote beneficial work and community partnerships, encourage student development, and invest in various fields while adhering to Islamic Sharia regulations.
