His Excellency Ambassador Yamamoto Gota, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate, was welcomed by Prof. Ahmed Al Rawahi, the Chancellor of the University of Nizwa, and Prof Abdulaziz Al Kindi, the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, on the University's initial campus. During their meeting, they discussed potential collaboration in the fields of education, research, and cultural exchange.
This visit is seen as a precursor to an upcoming visit from Japanese educational and scientific research institutions, which will enhance the University's partnership with Japanese educational institutions.
The University President accompanied His Excellency the Ambassador on a tour of the university library and several centres on campus, including entrepreneurship incubators, the Arabic calligraphy booth, the art workshop, the Injaz Center, the Natural and Medical Sciences Research Center, and the UNESCO Chair for Aflaj Studies at the university. The centres' roles and programs were introduced to His Excellency, as well as the many different workshops and services that enrich the education and training opportunities at the University.
