University of Nizwa Collaborates with ACTOTIB Foundation for Advancement in Food and Pharmaceutical Industries.

A delegation from ACTOTIB Foundation, specializing in the food and pharmaceutical industries, visited the University of Nizwa's initial campus in Birket Al Mouz. 

The Chancellor of the University of Nizwa met with the delegation to discuss possible collaborations between the two parties in programs related to the food and pharmaceutical industries, taking advantage of the research conducted at the Natural and Medical Sciences Research Center.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Natural and Medical Sciences Research Center and was introduced to the studies and research projects conducted by the centre, as well as the laboratories.

The University sent a delegation led by Prof. Ahmed Al Harrasi, Vice Chancellor for Graduate Studies, Scientific Research and External Relations, to Iran. The visit concluded with the signing of two memorandums of understanding (MoUs). One MoU was signed with ACTOR, a company that specializes in pharmaceutical industries. 

The MoU outlined the use of materials extracted from Omani medicinal plants in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as cooperation in the field of plant research. During the visit, another MoU was signed with the University of Shahid Bahshti for academic and research cooperation, technology transfer, and exchange of experiences and visits.
