The University of Nizwa Welcomes Over 500 Students on Orientation Day

 

 

On Tuesday, the University of Nizwa held an orientation day for 515 postgraduate students pursuing doctoral, master's, and double degree bachelor programs, as well as for transfer students from other academic institutions. 

 

 

 

 Dr Badria Al Ruqaishi, General Registrar at the Registration and Record Deanship, welcomed the newly enrolled students and encouraged them to pursue their academic hopes and desires,  said “I encourage you all to be physically and mentally present in your next academic journey, as it will be a new chapter in your academic life. The University is well known for its elit professors and instructors who will guide you through your journey, Make sure to use the University facilities and features”. Dr. Al Ruqaishi emphasized the importance of postgraduates paying close attention to their academic transcripts, including attendance, withdrawal, and postponement of semesters.

 

 

Nasser Al Naabi, Director of the postgraduate Studies Admission, explained in his talk the study guidelines and regulations at the University, the study plan, the academic calendar, the registration procedure, the calculation of the cumulative average GPA, and other things related to the academic system. 

 

 

The newly enrolled students had the chance to meet Prof. Ahmed Al Rawahi, the University Chancellor, and shared with them the University's vision, mission and aspirations. The University's Fundamental pillars were presented in his talk as he mentioned that the University is based on specializations, community service, scientific research, entrepreneurship, and supporting learners.   Prof. Al Rawahi said “A generation of ambitious skilled youth armed with science knowledge and capable of performing their national and community role are the University profit. We at the University of Nizwa aspire to support the community and the world with individuals of a positive mindset and part of the solution to any problem, and this is achieved by science, research and knowledge”.

 

The students were introduced to the University’s efforts in community service and serving and supporting learners. The University's achievements in this regard were presented by Dr Saleh Al Azri, the Dean of Students Affairs and Community Service.
