Nomination Period for Student Advisory Council Membership Commences at University of Nizwa

During their first meeting, the Supervisory Committee for the Student Advisory Council (SAC) Elections at the University of Nizwa declared the commencement of the nomination period for the Student Advisory Council membership for the upcoming academic year.

Dr. Saleh Al Azri, the Dean of Students Affairs and Society Service Deanship, chaired the meeting. The committee members included the Director of the Student Excellence Center, the Administrative Director of the Deanship of Student Affairs and Community Service, a representative from the Media and Marketing Department, and a representative from the Information Systems Center.

The chair of the committee presented the successful Student Advisory Council periods and the University parliament experience since the time beginning of the University academic journey. In his talk, he emphasised the effective role of the previous periods of the SACs in the University’s activities, events, and programmes on and off campus. Dr. Al Azri emphasized that the SAC plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between the University administration and the students.

The committee officially declared the start of the nomination period and urged all University students who wish to gain parliamentary experience to run for membership this academic year. Furthermore, they encouraged all other students to participate in the elections and support their preferred candidates.
