1486 Competent Graduates Support the Community Development Wheel
On a glamorous night, and hosted by the its beautiful theater, the University of Nizwa celebrated the graduation of the 15th cohort, producing 1486 graduate in various majors and scientific fields, qualified to enter the labour market. This brings the total number of UoN graduates since inception to around 1800 graduate.
The University was honored to welcome His Excellency Dr Khalfan bin Saeed Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, as patron of the event. In attendance were members of Board of Trustees and prominent figures of the Omani community. Professor Ahmed Khalfan Al Rawahi, Chancellor of the University, delivered the University’s speech. Addressing the graduates, the Chancellor said “You have been empowered with knowledge, and armed with values and skills, so that you are qualified to use these to achieve your goals and dreams”.
The College of Health Sciences’ graduates took the professional oath during the graduation ceremony. The graduates’ speech was written by Ahoud Al Kalbani and delivered by Dawood Al-Dhafri.
The University alumni dazzled in the Nizwa sky wearing their graduation gowns, graduating with various academic degrees, including 130 masters degree students, 941 bachelors degree students, 169 diploma degree students, and 246 teacher education higher diploma students.
The percentage of female graduates in this graduating class was 87.96%, while the percentage of male graduates was 12.04%, with similar distribution in previous years. It is with great pride that the University of Nizwa has been contributing to the empowerment of women in society.
