The speech emphasizes the effectiveness of Delay Tolerant Networks (DTN) or the so called Opportunistic Mobile Networks (OPPNets) for the intermittent communication systems which mainly occurs in disasters and emergency situations like flooding, earthquakes, hurricanes and terrorist attacks. In addition, the presented speech sheds the light on how the home-based social routing approach can be applied as a promising solution for these networks.
