One of the great achievements in research again this year is the recognition of the University of Nizwa (UON) contributions in the 2020 Nature Index. The nature index has released the information about the top 10 institutions in the sultanate of Oman based on Fractional count (FC) or Share of the researchpapers which are published in Nature Index Journals during the period 1 June 2019 - 31 May 2020.

Based on the Nature Index website, the University of Nizwa again achieved the first ranking in the Sultanate of Oman and acknowledges faculty and researchers’ contributions, from College of Arts and Sciences for their outstanding contributions, in the Nature Index Journals. 

The illustrative figure below indicates the development of scientific research at the College of Arts and Sciences and the extent of clear and pioneering interest in university management in developing scientific research and finding a solid foundation for joint research work, which appeared through joint research between faculty and researchers from the departments, colleges and research centers at the university.

Moreover, in the last five years, the UON research contributions in the Nature Index Journals at the Sultanate of Oman show that UON achieved maximum share in the 2020 report, which is 4.08. The current share is a maximum share that has not been achieved previously by any University in Sultanate of Oman as per Nature index data report (see below figure).
