University of Nizwa launches first blended Master’s programme in Educational Technology
The University of Nizwa has received approval from the Ministry of Education to introduce a Master’s degree in Educational Technology delivered through blended learning, making it the first programme of its kind to be offered by public or private universities in Oman.
Registration for the programme is set to open in February 2026, with teaching scheduled to begin in the following fall semester. The degree consists of 30 credit hours and combines in-person study with online learning, with 40% of the coursework delivered on campus and 60% delivered remotely.
The programme is designed to accommodate working professionals, including academics, teachers and educational designers. It aims to equip graduates with advanced skills in digital education, instructional design and applied educational research, in line with labour market needs and ongoing digital transformation in the education sector.
University officials said the new programme reflects the institution’s commitment to offering flexible, high-quality postgraduate programmes that respond to technological developments and support innovation in teaching and learning.
