University of Nizwa Graduates 805 Students from Teacher Education Diploma Programme
The University of Nizwa has celebrated the graduation of 805 students from the eighteenth cohort of its Higher Diploma in Teacher Education. The ceremony, held on Sunday, 23 November 2025 at the Hazm Hall on the university’s main campus in Birkat Al Mouz, was presided over by the university’s Chancellor, Prof Ahmed bin Khalfan Al-Rawahi. Senior university officials, deans, academic staff and families of the graduates attended the event.
The university described the occasion as an important milestone in its efforts to prepare qualified educators who can contribute to the development of Oman’s education sector. It stated the programme reflects its commitment to providing a high-quality learning environment focused on building knowledge, strengthening professional skills and fostering core educational values. The graduation marks the culmination of years of study, enabling new teachers to enter the profession with the skills needed to support national priorities under Oman Vision 2040.
In his address, Dr Issa Suleiman Al Amri, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, welcomed guests and congratulated the graduates. He noted that the university continues to advance its academic mission through consistent effort and institutional support, achieving progress in international rankings and contributing to the country’s development goals. He added that the university remains committed to improving its programmes and establishing new ones aligned with labour-market needs.
Speaking directly to the graduates, Dr Al Amri said their role as future teachers carries lasting influence, stressing that the impact a single educator can have on a student may shape the future of an entire community. He emphasised the responsibility of the teaching profession and encouraged graduates to apply the knowledge and values they acquired during their studies.
Graduate Manar Al Rasbi delivered a speech reflecting on the challenges and achievements of the cohort’s academic journey. She expressed gratitude to parents, families and faculty members for their support and guidance, and highlighted the personal and professional growth the students experienced during their years at the university. She described the programme as a pathway that helped strengthen their ambitions, discipline and commitment to education.
Graduates voiced their appreciation for the educational opportunity provided by the Government of Oman, noting that the Teacher Education Diploma had broadened their knowledge, enhanced their skills and prepared them for careers in schools across the country. They also acknowledged the university’s efforts to maintain a supportive learning environment, offer academic and advisory assistance, and respond to students’ needs throughout their studies.
